Volcano-Watch: Fourth Graders Map the Ring of Fire and Declare South Grove a "No-Eruption Zone."

Volcano-Watch: Fourth Graders Map the Ring of Fire and Declare South Grove a "No-Eruption Zone."

Our Fourth Grade Geographers completed an epic global mapping project! By plotting the locations of hundreds of active volcanoes, students discovered the Ring of Fire—the massive circle around the Pacific where most eruptions happen. They learned that volcanoes aren't random; they occur along the edges of powerful, moving tectonic plates. After seeing how far South Grove is from those plate boundaries, the class confidently concluded that our neighborhood is safely out of the eruption zone!
